The FAA celebrates the arts on a daily basis, with an interdisciplinary philosophy.  We are proud of our well-rounded curriculum which emphasizes the importance of visual arts, music and theater.

Embracing the arts creates a richer context for learning and deepen student engagement.

“Children need to know more about the world than just what they can learn through text and numbers. Art education teaches students how to interpret, criticize, and use visual information, and how to make choices based on it.”

says Dr. Kerry Freedman, Head of Art and Design Education at Northern Illinois University.

In May, our Art Show is exhibiting work from each grade spanning through Modern Art. Our students are not only learning about techniques and colors but also the history of the arts.

Throughout the year, two Choirs, Pre-K – K and 3rd, 4th & 5th grade are lifting our spirit, singing a wide repertoire of French and International songs.

In Middle School, students form a band rehearsing once a week and performing three times a year in front of the whole community.

At the FAA, students are also using digital media to create movies. In 2016, our 6th grade class won the award for best “avant-garde” movie at the short  movie festival of San Diego.
