The French American Academy engages the students through many projects. Here is a glimpse of some projects that we cherish.

How do we make bread? How do we make butter?
Through the scientific method, our 1st graders are making hypothesis, then are trying their ideas and finally can figure out the best way to produce good bread or tasty butter.

Stone Soup
This activity takes place just before Thanksgiving. The students read the folktale in French “UNE SOUPE AU CAILLOU” and in English “STONE SOUP”. The theme of the story is about sharing and working together as a group. Each student brings in a vegetable. We all come together to clean and cut the vegetables and put the vegetables into the pot to make the soup. The students also make butter and bread to accompany the feast. At lunch all the students and teachers sit together and enjoy the meal they prepared.
