Jersey City : a location second to none.
Is Jersey City a great location ? Short answer is YES! The environment, the diversity, the presence of an international community make Jersey City a great place to raise a family while enjoying a bustling city life. So close to Manhattan that it seems like you can almost “touch”it, Jersey City is a more affordable option than New York City. Also, being the 12th largest downtown in America, it offers plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy.
Look at the view
Jersey City is unique. Separated from Manhattan by the Hudson river, the view from the waterfront on downtown Manhattan is exceptional. From Paulus Hook or Liberty State park, there are no better views to contemplate New York Skyline.
The proximity of the “Big Apple” coupled with an affordable cost of living favors the presence of an international community. As a result, Jersey City has been voted the most diverse city in the US, in 2017, 2018 and 2020 according to the annual WalletHub diversity rankings.
The Mayor is supporting diversity by setting up policies to welcome new residents as the city grows. So, if you are an international, multicultural family, Jersey City an ideal location for you
Our school blends with the city
The French American Academy vibrant community reflects the population of Jersey City. Indeed our school population is made of young families, international expatriates and American alike. For these families bilingualism is an essential part of education.
For commuters, The French American Academy ‘s campus is ideally located downtown, 15 minutes away from Manhattan by subway (Grove st Path station). It is well served by public transportation services (local bus, light rail). Also there is a significant number of bike lanes all over the city for those who like riding a bike.
Since 2017 The French American Academy organizes French events (French Week, Bastille Day). As a result, our school contributes to the cultural life of the city displaying French culture.
